NORFOLK, Va. and PLYMOUTH, Mass. – Miller’s Neighborhood Markets, based in Norfolk, Virginia, launched its annual Hearts of Hope Campaign on January 5, running through February 14.

Each store is selling individual “Hearts of Hope” for $1 as a fundraiser for The Miller Oil Foundation. The Foundation then awards grants to Hampton Roads, Virginia area charities. Previous awardees include St. Mary’s Home, Samaritan House, Edmarc Hospice, CASA and many others.

Dedicated employees and their loyal customers raised more than $24,000 the last two years combined.  Customers are encouraged to support their favorite location and favorite employees will participate in a friendly competition to see who will sell the most Hearts!

Massachusetts-based VERC Enterprises presented a $500 grant to Cold Spring Elementary School in Plymouth, a grant made possible through the ExxonMobil Educational Alliance Program. Funded by the ExxonMobil Corporation, the ExxonMobil Educational Alliance program is designed to provide local retailers an opportunity to invest in the future of their communities through educational grants to neighborhood schools.

“We’re proud to participate in such a fine program that recognizes and supports the quality of local schools,” said Leo Vercollone, CEO of VERC Enterprises and NACS Board member.
